Is this the Answer to Our "More Power" Prayers?
The Blue Oval is introducing a new 3.7-liter all-aluminum V6 powerplant producing 305 horsepower and 280 foot-pounds of torque while turning in 30mpg.

The 30 mpg is interesting. I bet the cost is going to be pretty high though.
There has been this one around for a while now:

That serpentine chain is pretty neat. Hopefully it does not have flat tappets. One thing I do like our engines is how simple they are to work on (one you pill off all the crap). Plus there is a lot of room to work in the engine bay.
I'm trying to work out why the lead from the oil pressure sender is routed to the oil filler cap? And what the sending unit with the orange cap next to the dipstick might be for?
You have to remember that that is a "crated" engine, meaning that all of the plafes that would normally be hooked up to something have to be plugged so that nothing gets inside the engine during shipping or storage.
Here is what gets me, they have been making engines like this in Europe for decades but we are just now maybe getting them here in the US?
My wifes Volvo with a 2.3L turbo I-5 puts out over 200 horse power, if I swap the ECU with one from the "sport" model it will pump out almost 250, same engine, different ECU.
American is WAY behind the times.
