I am going to say yes, they are related. You have a loose brake pad and it is messing things up.
Double check your work.

I checked that already .Its seems that the caliper plungers and pads have play in them ..the plungers and pads only come into contact when I depress the pedal. I have changed fluid and bleed brakes

Pull the fuse to the ABS from the fuse box under the hood and see if the noise is still there.

I do not know. My '97 had the ABS problems with the truck not wanting to stop and it making a pulsating sound, pulled the fuse and problem solved.
Not sure what you have going on.

Left of the steering colum, switches, rear defrost, rear fog lights, now I have to go and look....
Top is rear defrost, next is rear fog lights, then stereo volume up and then down.

Buzz - I also have a 97 D1 LSE. Couldn't agree more with wondering why I waited to get one. I also have my ABS light come on periodically but there is no sound associated with mine and the brakes work great so I figure until I can afford to have it looked at I'll live with it. The switch you are referring to I believe is your master cruise control switch. In my D1 it is actually to the right of fog light but I believe it is the same switch. Or is there another switch in addition to the fog lights and cruise control? Any chance you could post a picture of the mystery switch? Do you have any extra lights or accessories such as that that could be operated by the switch?

Sorry, I thought he said left of the steering coloum, my mistake.
Cruise control power switch and the fog light switch, thats all. But they have open spaces for extras. Do you have extra fog lights?
