Any other common issues with 04?
So I know about the drive shaft oil pumps ticks liners sunroof leaks blah blah.
Is there anything else common that fails on a 04? Im particularly worried about the electronic climate control system.
I can't bring myself to accept the Tacoma, it simply looks like sht next to a disco. It looks so stiff the wheelbase is too long 127" consider the additional cost 6k minimum over the disco. So hopefully land rover is where I stay. I know I'll still hate the engine, but hopefully the engine managent system is better than the gems (can it get worse?)

I don't think the climate control electronics are that common of a failure... other than the light bulbs. The Bosch engine management doesn't seem to be too much more reliable, but it's more sensitive, so I think it does a better job of telling on itself when something does go bad.
Very expensive to repair even when you're doing your own repairs. I had loss of oil pressure on my 04' which was most likely driven by the oil pump tolarances wearing which appears to have toasted all my rod bearings. I've owned this rig since new and have taken excellent care of it so I'd hate to see what happens when you don't change the oil and run it to the ground.
Spence? You a glutton for punishment or what son?
Go old skool and you'll be happier. Anything up to and especially the '95 model year and you'll be lovin Rover ownership again.
