Default anyone added a fuel filter to the V8?

Hi
I just changed a fuel filter in my daughters car and for fun, cut it open to se what was inside. I was surprised with the amount of crud in it and got me thinking about the Disco 2 which has no external/changeable fuel filter (V8)
Has anyone fitted a changeable fuel filter? is it worth it, I presume these must be some fort of filter, perhaps in the pump? but would of thought a external filter would be much better at filtering out stuff?
Interested in your thoughts/experience

I’ve thought about adding an inline fuel filter but that thought lasted a whole 30 seconds.

The only filter, stock, is the sock in the tank.

I had added one to mine at one point, but at this point I wouldnt recommend doing it the way I did. The filter I used was not really intended for high pressure.

Frankly, I don't think it would be worth the trouble in most parts of the world. Fuel is pretty clean any more, tanks are plastic so no rust. These trucks have been running 20+ years without a filter.
