really like the Mud Kings that are made by BFG and have the same tread pattern but are half the price. They are on my Defender. My disco is getting ATs soon unless someone trades me an old disco for my 03.

Well my options are 225/75, 245/75, 265/75, 285/75 so which would be the best fit? Sorry but I'm new to the tire game. I don't really want smaller tires.

Is your truck lifted, if so how much?
What sort of wheeling are you doing, this makes a difference when buying tires?

Do you know what size tires are currently on your truck? I would say a 245/75 would be safe under a stock suspension. With a 2" lift you can fit the 265/75 with no problems.

This is my daily driver, however I go offroad anytime I can which is why I am looking at the Kumho Road Venture Mt (low road noise, doesn't wear out to fast, and has great grip from what I have read in reviews). Right now I have michelin 255/65 straight road tires and they slip way to much in tennessee mud. I have owned the BFG Ats but I was still not happy with the grip in snow and clay (they were on a jeep cherokee however). I prob will not go with the BFG MT after reading a lot of reviews. Thanks by the way for all the help so far... and for pm-ing me back mike.

EDIT: as far as what type of off roading I do... I usually find old logging roads or fire access roads. Since I have no lift and am still mostly stock I am limited to the aggresivness.

The 245/75 is going to be about a half inch narrower than your current tires but the same height. The 265/75 will be a half inch wider and a 1/2 - 1 inch taller.

A stock Rover will do more in stock form than most people give them credit for. They'll handle a lot more aggressive stuff than just old logging roads.

You should see some of the logging roads aruond here and North Carolina! I agree that rovers do a lot stock but my tires are definantly holding me back. The 265/75 have a diameter of 31.9 inches... do you think that is too big? 245/75 are 30.7 so those will prob be the ones.

I thought the same thing about my "road" Michelins until a couple of weeks ago. There was a hill climb at the off road event I went to, and I thought for sure I was screwed for getting up it, but the Rover never missed a beat. After that, I am extremely impressed with my Michelins.
