Default ARB 03-04 Bumper Install on 99 Rover - TROUBLE

Help !

Will an 03-04 ARB bumper fit on a 1999 Rover WITH A STEERING GUARD???

I was told it would and paid $1500 for bumper and shipping. But 4x4 shop now said - After selling it to me - it won't fit. They said it's not compatible with a steering guard, fog lights, ACE, Airbag, or THE HEAD LIGHTS and there are no refunds ! ! This is the first time I'm hearing any of this and if true I am out $1500 !!!

Is this true? I see other comments on the forums that it will fit no problem and that is why I ordered it. I MUST keep the steering guard WITH the ARB bumper.

Assuming the shop is right .. is there a way to cut the ARB bumper to make it fit ?????

Well the steering guard did not come stock so you could pull that
Headlight that is new one on me the bumper has nothing to do with headlights other than mounted height
Foglights yes but you can just fit a different set
Ace is irrelevant, unless it is a weight issue then 1999 bumper would not either
Airbags sort of different crush cans so it might but I do not know but it is doubtful

Sounds to me like they just do not want to do the work

Per Richards comments above, headlights are not an issue, the 03-04 bumper to my knowledge is compatible with the airbags and ACE is a non issue. I do not know of a steering guard that works with the ARB bumpers so that will have to be modified to work or done away with.

Can the steering guard be modified ? I don't care if I have to pay them to cut metal - I just want to know if it can be modified or not. I want to keep the ARB and the steering guard. I just really love how the steering guard looks. Like under carriage armor.

Good news good . But I don't want to pull the steering guard...

Why would ARB make a bumper that doesn't let you keep (or install) a steering guard? Steering guards are very important for off roading. Especially on rocks.

I have an 03 with an ARB bumper and steering guard. If I remember right the shop that did the install used some spacers to position the steering guard where it attaches to the bumper. No issues with that for 3+ years of use.

If your fitting a 30-04 to a 99 do you need crush cans? New bolts?

I don't know what guard you have so can't say for certain what would be needed to make it fit. That said just about anything is possible.

As to the steering guard you would have see what needs to be done, and to do that you need to mount the bumper
