Ashcroft cdl kit
#2
It's a bit of a pain to install. Have to remove the center console, then remove the plate riveted to the transmission tunnel and modify (i.e. grind) the hole that the cdl shifter fits through to allow movement. Don't be like me and forget to adjust the cable before putting everything back together. I have to take mine apart again because my shifter is leaning all the way towards the right. If you're mechanically-inclined and have the tools and hardware ready to go, then figure a good weekend to get it done. Took me a lot longer than that because I had to get new tools and order hardware.

It does. To me, it's the best solution if you're wanting a factory-looking shifter once everything is back in. Be mindful of routing the control cable, though.
Lucky8 has a terrible video of how to install. Use it as a very broad reference. They skipped a lot of details on getting it in and working.

I installed mine a while ago and yes, had to remove the transmission tunnel cover and drill out pop rivets, but it was straight forward. Bought it from Lucky8 and they had a video with a gal working through the install.

I have both a factory unit and an Ashcroft in the garage. The Ashcroft is much better made.
The concerns about installation apply equally to the Ashcroft as the do to retrofitting a stock unit: you have to drill out rivets, and cut a larger hole in the cover plate to accommodate the side to side movement of the transfer lever.
There are definitely videos online, I watched them before removing the used unit from a parts car that we had. I don't have a link handy but you can find it with your favorite search engine.

I just installed also. Went in very easy. Probably the most difficult part was all the grossness of 23 years of other people's sticky dirt that's under everything 🤣 I found over a dollar in change and like 40 bobby pins.
I ordered direct from ashcroft and I'm in the us. I ordered on a Sunday night and it was here Wednesday.
