Default Atlantic British

Anyone find Atlantic British shipping and import charges out of this world ?
I like the fact they have how to videos and good parts with kits etc but boy shipping sucks

just bought some brake hoses exhaust studs etc than fedex calls wants another $100 for charges

mind you I’m in Canada but I never have to pay extra charges when shipping with rock auto or amazon etc

AB has an Amazon store. You might have better luck with that if available in .CA

It is not AB it is Fedex - UPS is no better they are just evil when it comes to customs ask them for an itemized bill and you will see it is almost all BS paperwork charges. Find a place where you can ship to the border and then have them bring it across, my bet is it will around 20 - 30 bucks CDN plus the taxes on the parts, most auto parts are 0 to 6% duty, Pst & Hst plus whatever ever they charge for customer clearance. Or pick it up yourself. I have mine shipped to the border then brought across and pick it up. My terrafirma tie rods and ends worked out to about 250 CDN, so about 40 bucks in taxes, duty and another 30 bucks in custom clearance and shipping fees. It is the dam taxes that kill us. If I had the time I would just go get it myself and save 30 bucks but sometimes it can take the better part of an hour and half to drive a block into the US and back out it is worth 30 bucks to avoid that crap.

UPS would have cost 150.00 CDN to do the same thing so 110.00 for paperwork.

I end up ordering from England. For no good reason it's cheaper than from the states. Why an airplane across the Atlantic is cheaper than a truck from Buffalo (lucky 8) is beyond my comprehension, but there you go... Must be NAFTA...

I ordered my Terrafirma front shocks and springs from LR Direct in England last year.
The total cost was way cheaper to mail the whole lot to Georgia from the UK vs. stateside (Utah, Florida, New York) to Georgia. Weird...

Pssst... hey. Don’t talk too loud about ordering from the UK over Lucky8. The patriotic/small business trolls will come out and tear you apart. I did it once, barley survived. I still order almost everything from Rimmer Brothers or LRdirect, don’t tell anybody! I mean who wants to save money!?!

LRdirect is the ****. I also like island4x4 a lot. Generally quick delivery times, and it beats any US supplier by a huge amount, even after freight(which is usually cheaper than domestic too!)

I really like Lucky8, got my prop-shaft from them (excellent). But with shipping that was more than expected and import duties that couldn't be predicted... it was a huge pain. If I'm ever in the mood for a drive down to buffalo I'll use them again.
