Thumbs up Autocom CDP+ for Disco 2 ABS

I searched in vain for anyone that has had experience with the Autocom CDP+. It is one of the cheap diagnostics scanners from China that is supposed to work on a variety of foreign car systems including the Disco 2 ABS. I could not find any information from anyone that has tried it with a Discovery 2.

I finally bit the bullet and ordered one to use on my Discovery 2 to try and find out the cause of my amigos and get rid of them. The product is a little bit of a pain to install but once that step was done fit worked perfectly. I found the errors in my ABS system and was able to reset the three lights. It can also read and reset the SRS light as well as other systems on the truck.

I am not advertising this product but I thought I would just put the word out that this does work. It is alot cheaper that any other scanner that may just read one system. I bought the 2013 version 1 and the unit with software ran about $100 after shipping. If you have not seen it just do a Google search.

Thanks for the report. How about a pix of it running in your truck?

NEW Design Autocom CDP+ for Cars/Trucks and OBD2(New Verison 2013.01) with plastic Box on Sale -

Seems to be easy to find. If it will do more than the Amigos, it will have a good market among D2 owners. Would it do something like resync a BCU and ECM together, or reset a flashing odometer?

BTW, we don't care if vendors post, as long as they also contribute in other posts. Not saying you are a sales weasel, just that they are welcome if they understand we all want knowledge, and not an endless shower of alternate choice closes.

I do love how it's the Key to Vehicle 'Intelugence'. Spelling aside, I'm also curious about this device.

Has anyone seen a place that lists the vehicles and items covered with this device? I've got a VW New Beetle that needs the Transmission reset and wonder if this does it. And since it covers the DII, it's a double whammy.

EDIT: Where did you personally buy it?

This is the cheapest I could find from my search on the Web ($100 incl shipping)... this is the option which does not include the plastic container box:

New Design Autocom CDP+ for Cars/Trucks and OBD2 without plastic case [ET156]

Equally amazing... this Canada site is selling it for $2500:

Here are some pics of the thing running. The ISS scan scans all the systems it can and shows the errors. I am still playing with it to find out everything I can do. But I found the ABS and SRS errors then cleared the ABS.

As far as the price I would like to know where it costs $30. You can get it for $75 shipped by H.K. post but I chose DHL for $25 and it was here in a week. You do not need the toolbox for it. The circuit is housed in the alum case shown in all of the pictures. The extra cables may be of interest if you have anything else that different connectors.

Oh and I got mine from xcar360.com I have used them in the past and they have been reliable.

Even after exchange rate, that is still $394.177 US dollars.

I ordered the AUTOCOM CDP+ pro for Cars & Trucks & Generic 3 in 1 Red Type 2013.02 version from shopobd2.com for $108.90 shipped DHL. I'll let you know how it comes out. I also found a manual that shows it should work for my VW too.
