Baby car seat installation
#21
I will say outside a mini van or a large SUV, there isnt really any car that have good room for a rear facing baby seat behind a seat. With both my kids, we had the rear facing seat always in the middle and in my mind that also felt like the safest place for them to be. Its weird but my old 99 Grand Prix had more rear backseat room then most any car I have been in outside my in-laws town car. it was just a pain to get in and out of because it was a two door. It had just the waist seat belt in the middle backseat that you cinch down and it worked great for holding that car seat base in place
As does our 99 4Runner.
The D2 however....it's difficult to get the kid in and out of the rear facing seat.

There is some confusion here that I can resolve.
LATCH is not a universal word for "something to hook to". LATCH is a specific system designed for car seats with special belts to hook in to. LATCH latches are on either side by your butt in rear seats.
A Top teather is used as a secondary anchor. That's what's on the back of the rear seats on all years.
