Default Baby Seat Installation

Hi There,
We have a 99 Disco II, and will need to install a baby seat real soon. The baby seat is supposed to be installed in the center of the back seat. That means that we'll need either take off the headrest (blocks our rear view) or remove the folding armrest. Any thoughts on installing a baby seat?
Thanks!
Sonia

Let me know what you have decided. I have mine installed in the middle, rear facing using the latch system. This is the only position the car seat will fit when using rear facing. I did not remove the headrest and just had to deal with the headrest blocking the rear view.

Just installed my kid's seat in the LR today. Chose the center, didn't fuss with the headrest as I figured the gain in rear visability wasn't worth the hassle. The install was straightforward, it was easier in my Subaru because I had the latch system there but it was easy enough using the ratcheting tension on the middle belt.

On a side note, I assume you have been shown or know how to properly install a seat. If not almost any county health department can refer you to someone that will show you free of charge.

any fire department will check the seat install. I put ours on the passenger side for convenience. I figure it is a hell of a lot safer then when I was a kid. Occasionally I let my little guy ride in the defender. I put the car seat up front and he loves it. It's usually just a short trip to the store. The world has gotten to PC.
