Back again but now it’s misfires

Default Back again but now it’s misfires

So in short I did a bunch of maintenance last week. Timing chain, water pump, oil pump, wires and coil packs. I did the plugs a month back due to a bit of a rough feel in the idle (no codes). Since last week I have got the 6 cyl misfire code. Found that the wire on 6 was not all the way popped on but even after still got the same code. Swapped the cyl 6 plug with cyl 2. Now after a short drive got these codes-P1590

so yeah, good times! Any suggestions would be super cool. 🙂

If you did the timing belt correctly, then I think you have a bad vacuum leak. Do a smoke test. Injector o rings like to help set off those codes when they’re bad.

This was part of my entire bank one misfire debacle in Chloe. The last thing that was changed was the injectors. That solved all the issues.

Will the smoke test let you know if the injector o-rings are bad? Where will you see the smoke?

No on the injectors. It’ll let you know if there’s a vacuum leak.

Well 2 ideas on the whether the injectors are the problem, I didn’t pull the injectors themselfs for anything but I did pull the bolts to the intake manifold (under the plenum) to move it forward slightly to ge the ignition coils from behind. I’m really thinking when I put it back I created a leak. Gonna have to pull it apart again and do a new gasket there.

Update: pulled the intake manifold and plenum, replaced the dust shield/gasket, and relocated the coil packs out to the side of the motor. No codes yet and seems to run steady. A tiny bit rough on idle still but not bad. Oh, replaced all O rings on the injectors while in there also. Thanks for the help guys!

nice. looks like you didn't change the spark plugs, so go ahead and do that too just to make sure you hit all the main points.

Okay, latest update- was getting the cyl 6 misfire, changed plugs, got the code again, replaced wires, got it again, changed coils out and still getting the cyl 6 misfire code. Also noticing that my coolant reservoir is spraying coolant out here and there under pressure. Not tons but noticeable. Getting the coolant temp code as well but thought maybe it was the 180 thermostat I installed. Are heading gaskets in my near future? I’m at 122000 miles now.
