Back to Air Suspension?
I have a 2001 Discovery SE7 that had the air bags swapped out with coils by the previous owners. It wasnt done by a Land Rover Technician and the SLS warning light still comes on at random times. It doesnt look like the technician ever reprogrammed the computer not to recognize the air suspension. My question is, Can I go ahead and install air bags? Will the SLS work? I believe the compressor is still in good operating condition. Thanks
I went back. Got a pair of Arnott bags (lifetime warranty) and put them back on. Before you do it, I would verify the compressor is working, and follow the lines back to make sure they weren't pulled out.
is there a way for me to check if the compressor still works and the lines werent pulled out? I can see on of the connection cables, it is laying on top of the spring on the left side, but I can't see one on top of the right spring.
You can open the compressor cabin and take a look. It is located directly under the drivers seat under the car. Unscrew the one screw and the lid comes off. The block is on your left and should have the lines coming off it running to the back. There should also be 2 plugs....I think one is gray and one is white, but not certain. You should be able to follow the lines to the back of the car, they run along the frame.
okay, i opened the box and saw both lines and found the one on the right side hidden back behind the spring. Looks like all the cables and compressor are in good shape. Thanks for all the advice and help. Anyone know how long it would take for my Land Rover Technician to swap out the coil with air springs?
