back up and running -some questions
Well I am back up and running post head gasket repair
Everything seem good - now some questions
Have new oil in but it will be temporary - any suggestions on how soon to change it I was thinking after a couple of hours of running
Any odd things tend to show up quick ?

I'm not sure that you have to do anything special oil change wise after a head gasket job, unless you also replaced valves or anything else where metal rubs on metal, because your engine is already broken in. When I recently had the head gasket replaced on my Subaru (another well know head gasket blowing machine) they didn't give me any special instructions regarding oil change intervals.

@greisinb I am concerned about residual contamination mostly, took a lot of work to get the block surfaces clean. Oil being cheap I figured better safe than sorry.

Another question for the guys in PNW or similar damp climates. How much moisture do you get out of the tail pipe, on a cold damp day. I have not taken my Disco for drive yet so I am dealing with a almost 5 weeks of sitting in cold rainy temps, I am getting what I expect is normal moisture idling in the rain at around 40 deg, but to be honest I never paid much attention.

@Extinct thanks that sounds about right, 2 more flushes with water then back to A/F and driving.
I have idled for an about 1.5 hours in 2 runs (45 minute each) without issue, highest temp was 201 after 45 minutes on straight water so I am thinking I am good.
Idle is solid at 750 used to be around 650 but I can adjust after a some driving time.
