Default bar's leaks liquid aluminum or tablets?

hey all,

i've read through the many posts regarding Bars and have come to the conclusion that using it will hopefully stop my coolant from making its way into the engine. i've got the signs of a leak in the head, using about 2 cups of coolant every 3 weeks, lots of steam in the exhaust on cold starts. a mechanic friend recommended the liquid aluminum, but the posts on this forum support the tablets? am i making a big deal out of nothing? will both of them work equally? thanks in advance.

either one will work if you plan on dumping the car.
if you plan on keeping it either will most likely cause you the same problems.

you should have your coolant system tested to find out where the coolant is going and get a real estimate to have it fixed. (and not the sealer guy)

it could be as cheap a repair as a $22 throttle body heater, it could be as costly as $2500 for head gaskets.
But why gamble a $6k replacement engine on it.

I don't see anything in your bio for location or year or model, if you add that maybe someone local could point you to a good independent LR mechanic in your area.

I have used barrs leaks in dire circumstances. Works great.
And I kept it in there for a long time too.

have you pressure tested your cooling system?
it costs nothing to borrow and takes 30 minutes.

as the temps drop you are going to check your coolant less and less and before you know it you need an engine.
