RE: Battery Light came on after obdII check
Well maybe if I get this alternator replaced the SRS light that has been on ever since I bought the truck will go away too! I checked at Autozone and it's gonna cost $275.00. Thats the highest alternator I've heard of! I saw a link in another post to car-part.com that sells them used for cheap. I'm probably gonna go that route being a student and all. We will see what happens!

Yikes, that' expensive. Here's the cheapest I found: $172 http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/raframecatalog.php
It's a remanufactured Bosch which should be fine, you'll need an impact wrench to swap your pulley though. I hope your battery is stillokay, that seems like a big voltage drop for one start.

Well the new alternator came in today and I put in. The battery light Immediatly went away and has stayed off during 2 test drives. I'm thinking it's fixed. I want to thank everyone that contributed to my situation. You all saved me BIG MONEY! I say that because the Autozone guy told me the battery and alternator were good and recomended I take it to an auto electrician and have my charging circuit looked at. If not for " My Land Rover Guys on the Internet" as I call this community to everyone, that's exactly what I would have done. Andwould've ended up buyingthe $275.00 alternator at Autozone. I was able to get my alternator for $55.00 total at www.car-part.com.
One thing I noticed durring the change out is that the new alternator made a sound when spun by hand(swish, swish, swish). I think it may be the brushes that I hear, but the intresting thing is that I don't hear this sound from the old alternator. This may be the reason why it quit on me. I plan on having the old one rebuilt so I'll have a spare. Never know when the new one will quit on me!
