Yes its the clock spring, Is the airbag light on? typically if the bags have deployed the clockspring has to be replaced as it usally melts if the SRS goes off. Be careful buying a used one, as if it wasnt ziptied in the center position when removed and spun while shipping or storage youll be in the same boat after it binds up while you turn and tears the connections or even worse stops you from steering properly. I may have a used one avail. as my friend has a parts truck with low low miles (15k), Ill double check with him if you like. There a simple install, just pull the airbag, then steering wheel and its directly behind the steering wheel and has a multi pin plug on either side and a screw or two.

hey could this be related to my accident? old lady backs into my front end but at an angle. hits me right on the corner on the right light.....everything in the front just blows out but no airbag deployment....then this clockspring thing?????insurance will not pay because bags were not deployed...says it was just wear and tear...
