Default Best BFgoodrich tire/rim size for a stock DISCO II

Greetings Everyone,

I'm a new DISCO owner and would like to ask the collective here what they think is the best BFgoodrich AT tire/rim size for my use. Car is a '04 D2 with air bag suspension.

I will mostly be using the car as a daily driving with occasional outings to the local desert and trails. Nothing extreme but I do like to have the correct setup should the occasion happen.

Right now the vehicle has 18" rims. If there is anyone running a similar setup can you please comment or post pictures.

Thanks in advance.

I'm getting 255/60/18 Hankook Dyanpro AT's as soon as they can deliver from Chicago ( next day or so) Didn't care much for the BF's they were ok but the 255/60's fit stock if that is a size they offer I have 255 /55/18 Michelin's now but they re road tires and worn out . However, they performed very well for road tires.
I have Maxis 477 on the 99 they are 16" 's. At first I wasn't sold but they are pretty good and not too loud.
Most folks on here don't care for BFG Ko's I am one of them, Some really like them . Not so good in mud and they were a bit squishy and were worn prematurely.Plus really expensive in an 18
Hope this helps some

Thanks for the feedback slabrat!

Ill have to give this more thought and Im still back and forth on tire type and size.

Im almost thinking if I want to get more serious about trails that the 16" are the way to go.

Here is my take and I have owned other 4x4's in the past.

18" rims seem to be the preferred choice for street and high performance tires. Thus the selection for AT tires on 18" Rims seems to be quite low. General Grabbers and I forget the other off the top of my head. Buts its not a lot to choose from.

Now in 16" Rims there is a boat load of choices. I purchased a set of DII 16" rims all 5 with the caps for 350 in change. I plan to run the BFG All terrains. Haven't decided on a size but I can run 255 or 265/75/16 on stock shocks I think and have no rubbing according to a few sites I have researched.

Not a fan of BFG All Terrains. For me, they were terrible in the snow and not that great elsewhere. I've had Nitto Terra Grapplers which were great and am now running Dura Tracs which I am really impressed with. I'm running 265/75-16's with a set of OME HD springs do I have about a 2" lift.

I believe the smallest you can get BFG All Terrains for an 18in wheel is 265/65. They might fit with no lift, but I have them on a 2in lift and they fit great without any trimming or rubbing.

Hey NW_rockhound would you happen to have a picture of your car with the 265/65's ?

If I can't find a set I'll have to think about switching up to 16" rims.
