Default Best option for new springs with no lift

I really need new springs on the rover but I dont want much of a lift (or none at all). I had OME springs on my disco 1 years ago and they were such an improvement over stock but I can't seem to find these in a no-lift size? Any suggestions would be great.

THANKS!

Andy

If you dont want a lift (like me) you need OEM or Britpart springs.

Rovers North - The Source for Classic Land Rover Parts sells original Land Rover springs.

The problem I'm running into is that a 2" lift is cheaper than no lift.

Ah ok. So OME doesnt make a stock height spring? Are the light, medium and heavy all the same amount of lift? I will have to look into the OE or britpart. I would get the OME but I just got new tires and dont want a lift with stock size tires.

Thanks again.

Yes, all spring rates will give you the same amount of lift.
Spring rates are based on the load you want to carry, "light duty" is equal to OEM, "medium duty" is weekend warrior but not loaded for the rest of the week, "heavy duty" is fully loaded expedition all the time, winch bumper, loaded roof rack, rock sliders, full cargo area...all the time.
OME/ARB (same brand) do make stock height springs only not for sale here in the US, if you were to buy them from Australia or the UK shipping would put you over a lift kit and then some.
Britpart sells a 1 5/8" kit for the Disco, AtlanticBritish sells that kit, other than original springs that is the best you are going to get.

Andy, you need to realize that your truck is probably 1.5" lower, due to a warn suspension, then new.
Any set of springs will give you a lift of at least that amount.
What do you use the truck for?

Hi Mike,
It is quite low and handles poorly. So do you think I should go with OEM springs? I would like the ride height restored and some firmness in the suspension. I use it to occasionally commute (my dd is an R1200GS) and we take it on monthly 500 mile trips to VT. The only offroading I do nowadays is the occasional doubletrack in rural areas.

Thanks,
Andy

If you commute with it and hardly off-road you don't need extra springs. Especially if you take passengers, that extra lift for in and out of a lot of passengers can be a pain. That being said, as Spike mentioned, it does tend to be cheaper to get a lift than staying stock from a spring perspective.

OME's light duty springs are as close to factory as you can get and not pay the extra to buy a new set of factory coils/ So, yes, you will gain a liitle height, may be 1/2 to 3/4"s of an inch over new but you will also gain a far better ride with more control. Make sure to buy the OME Sport shocks and steering stabilizer also.
