Default Best place for mounting a gun rack?

I need to install a gun rack that attaches to the ceiling of my 03 Disco and holds a shotgun and a rifle. Does anyone who has experience with recovering the headliner know where abouts the best place would be to do it as far as supports? Are therecross supports anywhere behind thefrontseats but still reachable fromwhile sitting in the driver's seat?

I need the guns to be accessible for when I am driving in the back country of a large ranch and come upon varmints or other unwanted preditors. An image of the rack I am installing is here: http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/te...;cm_ite=netcon

Thanks in advance.

Sorry, i cannot help you, I carry a hand gun, but you need more than a .380 for varmits, and a scope too.

I have always wanted that setup, but with sunroofs and heavy barrel rifles it would not work.

Now this is a reason to get another gun.

What I did was a Remington XP100R 22-250 with a Leupold 2.5x8x32 and a Harris bipod.

See if the mounting screws clear your sunroof. If they will, drop your headliner and find a position that won't hit any electronics. YOu may have to run flat bar cross supports with the mounting bolts through themand epoxy them to the roof. I don't have sunroofs and I can tell you that there is nothing there but sheet metal.

If you are really set on it, I will install one in mine and trade you trucks..... =)

The easiest thing would probably be to get a dog guard, and mount it to that.
