Brand new to Disco II ownership (bought my new rig this past weekend) and was just about to ask the forum what type of tools they would suggest for newbie to fixing cars. My tool ownership is minimum (box of the usual around-the-house-but-I'm-a-renter-so-I-don't-have-that-many sort of stuff) and I am looking to start adding to my collection so I can work on my DII myself.

My first project will be installing a 180 TD5 & new front drive shaft if I can get my hands on one. Excited to be joining this forum community--following this thread to keep adding to my shopping list.

AAA haha, but seriously. I carry a ton of spares and far too many tools but sometimes just getting it home safely to tear into something is the right solution.

Install the Extinct inline mod with 180 thermostat instead of a TD5 unit. There's a sticky at the top of the Disco2 forum.
