Default biggest 18" tire on stock 03 discovery

i've got an 03 discovery with 255/55 r18s. I'm looking at replacing my tires with nitto terragrapplers. can i go to a 265 or are the 255 the biggest i can go? also, there is a 255/60 option as well. will these work?

sorry if this has been asked before.

I went with Nitto Terragrapplers in a 255/60-18 and they are about an inch taller that stock. I wouldn't go any taller without a lift.

I just ordered these for my D2 also. They should be in tomorrow. I'll try and get some pictures once they are mounted.

265/65/18 with radius arm rubbing only while holding full lock and slight front splash guard rub from the edge of the tread while parking on the older style bumper I have. From what I've seen the 03 bumper would clear fine. I feel like any bigger and the driveability would be affected. With the swaybars connected the suspension doesn't articulate enough to even come close to rubbing the body even without a lift.

It's 31.5" vs 29" stock.

Default 255/60 Terra Grapplers

Here is mine with the 255/60 Terra Grapplers. Love those tires. They have 32,000 miles on them now and are not even close to needing replacement. Probably 50-60% tread left. Just maintain your pressures to the factory specs.

I have Yoko Geolander AT-S in 265/60/18 on stock suspension. Zero issues, gives a nice lift and no rubbing at all. The tire shop didn't want to put them on because they looked so much bigger...I told them no sweat. All good!
