Default Black Discovery with white roof.

I have been thinking about painting the roof of my black Discovery white like the Series I and II and Defenders sometimes have. What are your thoughts. Do you think it will look good or will it look tacky and out of place. I would also like to know if anyone has seen this done before and if anyone has any pictures. I have searched the internet for pics to get an idea on how it looks but I haven't found any. I might go crazy and even paint the wheels white, who knows.

I have seen a green one done with the white top. I thought it looked good.

Black with a white top would look kind of like the bathroom tile schemes you see.

Add a few white Zebra stripes in an understated way. Then it would really look cool. There is a website with some cool looking Zebra striped Rovers on it.

Here's a few to look at:http://www.skytoprover.com/oddities.htm

I think it would look good, but it would be a pain to keep clean. My other car is a Mini (BRG with a white top), and the roof alway looks dirty. At least with a Mini, it is easy to clean the roof without needing a ladder. I also know a guy who bought a Mini with the white wheels, and he has washed the wheels everyday for three years. He even hookep up a garden hose to wash his wheels when he pulls into the garage. The wheels are like the top, they look good when they are clean, but the first time you hit the brakes, they will be covered in dust even with the EBC pads.

All that really matters is if you like it, but it would stand out in a crowd.

I agree with Mike about the wheels. The amount of dust these things create, even with the best pads, will be tough on white wheels. You'll have black wheels after a few weeks, or you'll be out there cleaning them often.
