Default Black tube behind DII spare tire

Dear D2 forum:

There is a 1/4 black rubber tube located at the back of my 2003 D2 spare tire holder. The tube comes out from inside the rear door but there nothing attached to the end of the tube. There's a black plastic part that is screwed on the door which is also located behind the spare tire carrier.

What are these two parts for? Attached are some pics I took. Thank you.

First pic is taken through the spare tire:

Second photo also taken through the spare, focused on the tip of the rubber tube:

Third pic taken from the right side of the spare tire:

I think the 3rd photo makes the most sense. Could this be window washer?

Thanks again

Al

That black tube is for your rear window washer that attaches to your rear wiper blade to wash your rear window.

Hi Drowssap and GPete,

Thanks for replying to my post!

The rubber tube is wrapped around the other plastic part - is that the base which holds the wiper arm? Should the rubber tubing not be wrapped around that piece and just dangling? Is there a nozzle which attaches to the rubber tube or does the tube attach to the rear wiper?

I will also call around and maybe the dealer or AB might have the parts I am missing.

Al

OffroadFrance, Erik, Drowsap,

Thanks guys! I just received the parts which Erik sold me for $25 including shipping. Very good price I should say.

The new wiper arm comes with the washer tube. Sorry in advance for the dumb question here... the old washer tube sticks out through the door via a grommet - do I try to remove the old washer tube and connect the new wahser tube to whatever the old tube was connected to? If I did this, would I need to remove the door panel to get to where the old washer tube was connected?

OR do I try to reuse the old washer tube and install it on the new wiper arm?

OR do I just simply connect the old rubber tube to the new rubber tube on the wiper arm via a plastic connector?

Sorry guys I checked the workshop manual first but the steps are not quite obvious. Thanks
