bleed sequence, RHD /LHD ?
What is the difference between RHD and LHD ? the brake bleeding sequence is different in the manual if it's RHD or LHD.
I found some very fine metal shaving stuck to magnet of the ABS sensor in the front driver side. I'm still waiting for the caliper kit to finish the job. where the metal shaving (like powder..) is coming from ? what other surprise I'm going to have?

Master cylinder is on the opposite side, and the lines are different lengths.
The metal is probably wear from your rotor. Have you checked for grooves and tolerance?

thanks,
I'm changing the rotors, they are bad anyway. but how it get to the ABS sensor , I thought it was in a sealed place.
while we're at it..
my rear rotors shows very, very little wear. so I think my rear brakes are not working properly, what could be wrong ?. before when I apllied pressure on the brakes pedal, it was kinda of soft, and if I pumped once then it was normal.
the bleeder on the caliper are linda long and pointy (the side that goes inside the caliper) would that be the "fast" bleeder thing that the previous owner installed ?

Rear brake last 2 to 2.5 times longer then the fronts with normal braking.
The metal is most likely coming from the caliper piston wear, not the rotors.
So if you have a left hand Disco, bled the r/r then the l/r, r/f, l/f. You should also cycle your ABS to pump out any old fluid or metal.

Without a Test Book, I was told to hold down the brake pedal for 30 seconds between each wheel as you bleed them, this will cycle the ABS pump and move the old fluid.
according to the rave manual the bleed sequence for a LHD rover is right front, left front, right rear, left rear..am I missing something? I have always started with rear as mike stated.
I have allways gone from the longest brake line to the shortes brake line..
Consiquentially starting in the rear..
If your fluid is old, you should be able to see the color of the fluid change when you get all the old stuff out of the line.. just use clear tubing and watch for the old yellow stuff to be replaced by new lighter colored yellow stuff..
I take it to cycle the ABS pump you would have to have the Ignition on???
Does the car have to be running??
Ive allways bled with the car off, but then again.. never done one with ABS..
Till now that is
