blowing alternators
ok guys, here's the story....I don't know what the heck is going on but i keep blowing alternators faster than i can get them. The battery was replaced and tested at the same time i put this new alternator in. One short trip and the alternator is overheating and whining like crazy....what could this be? im sick of dropping money on alternators.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

I replaced it and the wires went on the same spots just as they were before, I even cleaned the contacts....There are two wires with nuts on the top, then one snap on wire on the bottom and one terminal where there is no wire. Just like it was. Is this normal?
By the way, there is also something draining my battery while the truck is off, could this be a wire problem, maybe a short? blowing out the alternator and draining my power.....wouldnt the fuse protect it from that?

Im paying 300 CAD. Im fairly mechanical. More familiar with small engines and carburetors, but I can get by. Where and what do I start to look for?
