Bonnet wont open!

RE: Bonnet wont open!
If you pull the latch, then walk to the front of the trk andlift up on the hood. The spring might be weak. Or like it was mentioned, the cable may have broke.
I dont use white lithium grease, it seems to attract more dirt. I use the pen/lube that we sell at work, I get it for free.
But Liquid Wrench or that type thing. For the slide on the cargo door I use chain lube for bike bike chains.

RE: Bonnet wont open!
Ok, so I got into the bonnet late last night.
After closer inspection of the cable through the front grill, I noticed the cable cover, the plastic coating was damaged. This meant that when the cable was pulled, it just flexed instead of pulling. After much fiddling around under and through the grill, I eventually removed the cable from the pull handle and pulled it with a pair of pliers (read; give it a good sharp pull). This allowed the latch to be pulled from a side motion and the bonnet popped. I cheered.
Im about to drive to the land rover centre and get a new fuse. Great.

My disco hood latch is messed. Its a LHD and it looks like the latch was designed to be RHD. When the interior piece broke, I guess the owner had thought pulling on it would work but it just bent the cable back over sharply near the latch and has made it almost impossible to open. I dont think this would be such an issue if the cable was on the opposite side.
RE: replacing the cable... on mine it doesn't appear to be tied down... so I might be able to pull the new cable through using the old one as a pull sting.
Since corrosion and theft doesn't happen here, I think I'll just modify the latch to open through the passenger fender well or something untill I get the right parts - or replace the latch with hood pins (joking, no hood pins)
