Yup, you have a significant coolant leak, probably hg. I had one that went from not leaking to leaking so bad it woudl hydrolock sitting overnight.

That’s what I thought.

If anyone has been thinking about buying a borescope go ahead and do it.

And the real MFer is I just did these gaskets BUT I installed a set of heads from a different truck with unknown history. I had the heads machined and valve job done but didn’t have them pressure tested. WHAT A MORON.

Appreciate that, man. The heads that were on the truck when I got it were for SAI and the SAI ports had freeze plugs jammed in them and then covered with JB weld. I only discovered that when I did the head gaskets 70k miles ago. Figured I’d put another set of heads on it this time around to eliminate that possible failure point.

Well… that was effing stupid!

being #8...it's probably just a bad corroded disintegrated gasket.....common location for leak...
