Default Both Rear Axle Seals Leaking

I am doing a rear brake job, and both Rear Axle Seals are leaking, and I have a few questions for those of you who have done the job.

1. My Hubs are performing fine, no ABS Codes or anything else, can I reuse them?
2. Should I clean, de-rust and reuse the bolts that hold the hub on? Or get new bolts?
3. Is there a tool for pressing in the new axle seals? I think I just used a PVC pipe for my front ones, but remember having trouble.

Thanks Guys, and everything seems a bit easier on the rear wheels. brakes, not so corroded or tough as the front so I am hoping this is a weekend job.

Guessing your hubs are leaking but there is also an o-ring between the axle and hub. Different design than the front. Need to figure out which is leaking to know what to replace.

The fluid is definitely coming out of the Hub. There is no way it could get out between the axle and the axle casing, it is on there solid. I will have to make sure and inspect the breather tube as well, make sure it is not plugged and forcing the oil out.

Does the ABS Connector fit through the hole on the Axle Casing? It has to right?

Check the vent to make sure it's clear. I was just reading today about how a clogged vent can allow pressure to build up and make the seals leak. Easy thing to check anyway.

The hub is not serviceable. Requires a replacement if it’s leaking. Use your old bolts. And yes the sensor goes into the hub assembly. There’s some cheap hubs on eBay people seem to have luck with. Many come with sensors which seem to work. Actually I used my old sensor and it gave an error code so needed to use the new one. Do a search and decide for yourself.

Check/clean vent, blow out line with compressed air...first.

I will blow out the vent today. I don't have compressed air, but I will figure something out.

I have parts on order, going to get the driver's side rear hub off today.

Thanks for the thoughts guys.

I’ve had issues mix matching sensors with hubs. (Replacing cheaper hub & keeping original sensor - only to learn I have to tear it all back down to get to sensor) You’ll want to make sure to use the sensor provided with your hub. The cheaper ones do not use the same gap clearances as oem

I cleared the breather tube that is fine, I have the passenger side rear on the ground and the parking brake on, and am trying to break the axle nut free. Having a heck of a time. I did get the nut un-staked so taking a break to look at directions and make sure I did not miss any thing.

I really don't want to roll the truck off of the jackstands.

Put the tire back on, lowered the truck, took off the wheel cap, and bent the breaker bar. 😂 Ordered a bigger newer design, and warrantied the other.
