Here on some directions to rebuild the factory jack from the LLRForums but I did not find any rebuild kits for sale on eBay or Rovers North or AB. I also searched eBay UK. I will try to source some seals from a local hydraulic shop and post what I find.

The only reason I really want one is because im putting my own lift on and was needing it to press the axle down away from the body to fit the spring in

most DII jack are like yours they are junk when you need them,
I don't know it the heat under the hood or the fact that it spend its life laying on one side

IMO I think the D2 jacks are good considering most/all have never been serviced and are at least 12 years+ old and been sat in the engine bay 'cooking' for half of that time. Mine still works perfectly but I've only ever used it twice and never for wheel changing.

I also read last night to find a LR bottle jack from a P38 possibly from eBay. They sit in the back near the spare tire and are not subject to heat under hood in the DII. I think they still lay on their side, but not certain on that. Mine had worked well until last year when it lost all its oil.

I would love it if you used it for other stuff, ie holding up a floor, and separating some cats.

Not swapping springs etc.

But I might be wrong.

(I lived in France, I know what goes on)

You're not wrong, I used it for swapping my road springs because it has a curved top and is my smallest jack as the other two bottle jacks are 20T and 30T

Don't use it for holding up floors though, that's for the French
