Hello all, I just picked up another 99' Disco 2 yesterday for dirt cheap. It has 112k mi. on it, got it for $1400. Here are some trouble spots, bare with me. Leaking oil from the timing cover and oil pan, already ordered kit from AB. It has a pretty loud ticking noise coming from the left side top of motor. It had ACE, but the previous owner had problems, and disconnected everything. She told me that the ACE pump fried and didn't want to replace it. Drive shafts have not been serviced, or replaced. I can take care of everything else as far as leaks and such, but my main concern is the drive shafts and the ACE pump. She was no mechanic by any means, and really didn't take care of the vehicle that well, but I know it can be saved. Also, ABS , TC, lights are on along with the lights for the hill decent and ACE. Should I take it to the dealer to get the ACE active again? As far as the drive shafts go, would a local shop be ok? As far as the ticking noise, new valves maybe? Other than those things the truck rides just as well as mine does, but will be resting in the garage until all this gets sorted out. One good thing out of all of this, atleast all the hoses were replaced Thank you all for your time and patience, I really appreciate it.
