Bought my first landrover, Discovery II, Few questions
Hi everyone!
well i'm new to the land rover community. I'm really into jeeps, and that's what i use for 4 wheeling, but i bought a discovery II last night! I really like it! Anyway, i bought a 2002 SD that was originally purchased as a rental vehicle, but was only used for 3 months. Then someone bought it. It was probably a corporate rental according to what i saw on teh carfax. Anyway, it only has the tape deck in it. It has the steering wheel controls and has a CD button. I looked on ebay and saw there are various CD changers on there that say they're Plug and play. Is there anything i need to look for to assure that these will work? I'm assuming since there's the "cd" button on the tape deck that i have the correct head unit.
anyway, i'm psyched about this thing! it's a great DD!!!! Here's my off road/towing setup
sorry if it's big. i didn't host it. I'll get some pics of the new disco as soon as i take some!!!!

best thing i can think of is call a local dealer and see what they say about the "plug and play"

2k2,
From what I understand, some of these vehicles came pre-wired for the changer even if the changer was not installed. That is, the cable running from the radio to under the seat is already there. Guess it depended on the trim package. Some are not, but I've attached two links that may be of help. One shows how to pull the radio out and quickly see where you are at as far as what came with the vehicle.
Hope this helps.

LOL, no, not in this rig . . . not right now. It's a Daily driver. I had a 2002 wrangler on 38.5's and now have a 1946 *****'s with a small block chevy on 36's for that.
Thanks for the help on the CD player! this defentiely makes me feel better about ordering a cd changer! i was worried i'd be buying 200 dollar wiring harnesses and stuff lol.
