Brake Fluid...

RE: Brake Fluid...
DOT 4.
2 quarts.
I used Valvoline synthetic blend? brake fluid from AutoZone.
You will also need the tubing from a ice maker for the refridgerator. Just go to Home Depot and ask for ice maker tubing, its like $5 for a roll, cut the length that you need and you car good to go. And I beleive that the bleeder screws are 10mm.

Yes it is easy to bleed, just cut it and she'll bleed.
You will need a friend to push the brake pedal for you.
Remove the cap from the master cylinder, put your tubing on the nipple on the brake farthest from the mastercylinder, right rear wheel. Stick the other end into a empty container.
Loosen the bleed screw and have your friend press the brake pedal to the floor and hold it there. Retighten the bleed screw, release brake pedal, loosen bleed screw, press brake pedal to floor and hold, retighten bleed screw...youi get the idea.
Keep the brake fluid resovoir full, after two to three pumps you will need to add fluid.
Keep doing this at each wheel until clean fluid comes out from the bleed screws.
And no, the engine does not need to be running.
Take your old brake fluid in to AutoZone when you are done. Just dont tell them that it is brake fluid. Tell them that it is really old motor oil that your dad had sitting around.

Yes, each wheel starting with the one farthest from the mastercylinder.
Right rear, left rear, right front, left front last.
By holding the brake pedal to the floor and then tightening the bleed screw BEFORE the pedal is released no air will get into the system.
If the fluid level gets to low youi can get air into the system then too.

just so i have this down...start with the rear right, open bleeder, pump once, tighten bleeder. Repeat. Check fluid and add new fluid. Repeat til clear.
Go to left rear, open bleeder, pump once, tighten, repeat. Check ffluid and add fluid. pump til clear.
Is that right? Each caliper will expel dirty fluid, correct, til new fluid gets sucked into each line?

ok. Will attempt tomorrow. Approx how many pumps will each caliper take? It seems as though the first caliper will take the longest since it is pretty much emptying the reservoir. Should I syringeas much of the old fluid as I can from the reservoir first? While I bleed should the reservoir be open and should the key be in the 3rd position?
