Default Brake Lights / Park Lock

Went to drive the 2003 Discovery II to work the other day and it's stuck in park. No brake lights either.

Read through a few pages of forum posts and got to work.

Replaced the brake pedal switch, and all of the bulbs. Nothing. Still no brake lights and stuck in park.

Went through both fuse boxes, cannot find a bad fuse.

Exactly which fuse is the park lock and brake lights on. I want to check to see if there is current at the fuse box, and work my way through the circuit.

Is it possible that the lock solenoid failed? Would that also kill my brake lights. I can pop it into gear by releasing the lock with a screwdriver, but I still have no brake lights.

What am I missing?

Can't be a lot of help other than to confirm that a faulty solenoid will not effect the brake lights. Mine failed and is no longer installed and nothing is plugged into its place, and others have reported the same, so your issue is definitely trickling from the brake lights down to the solenoid and not the other way around.

The symptoms sure do point to the brake light switch and I don't know what else it could be. Maybe try unplugging and re connecting it? Did you get the new, white design with the pigtail adapter?

Yes, new design with the plug adapter. What fuse does it pass through?

Does anyone know which under dash fuse the park lock and brake lights go through?

I've found conflicting information via a forum search. Still trying to sort out this brake light issue.

I had the same problem

Used this method
to drive it home and until I replaced the brake light switch.

The car is in my driveway.

I can easily get it out of park with a screwdriver. The problem is I don't have any brake lights.

Does anyone know which fuse I should start with. I want t trace the power, but I don't know where to start?

It's fuse #25 on the interior compartment (15 amp) and fuse link #8 (50 amp) under the hood. Hope that helps in you tracking down your issue.
