Have any members of the forum replaced their brake lines ?? If so, what was the most difficult part? Plug and play?? Was bleeding a big chore?? What can I expect when I try to replace them this winter?
I've done plenty of D1/D2 SS brake line installs. Pretty straight forward swap, if you live up north they might fight ya, but soak em overnight before attempting to break them free. Bleed wise you can power bleed them by jumping the ABS relay.
Replacing all 6 (2 small ones in driver front wheel well.
So far for the front, soak the ferrules in penetrant oil. Use a flare wrench. I drilled the rivets out on the bracket for the 2 small lines. Made breaking the ferrule lose easier.
Hi When i did my rear pipes I could not get the new pipe in the last plastic clip above the rear hub as there was just no room and I did not want to start lifting the body off the chassis so I opted to feed the new pipe through the clip then form the new pipe end with a an Insitu pipe former, I also used it at the front to do the ends that go into the flexi pipes it made for a good fit
Is that the original bracket that's holding the two smaller ones? I may need a new one but it's NLA.
Yes - original bracket. I drilled out the rivets that originally held it in place to make it easier to get to the lines and put the clips on. I used small bolts and locknuts to put it back on. .
