Default Brake line replacement

Have any members of the forum replaced their brake lines ?? If so, what was the most difficult part? Plug and play?? Was bleeding a big chore?? What can I expect when I try to replace them this winter?

I've done plenty of D1/D2 SS brake line installs. Pretty straight forward swap, if you live up north they might fight ya, but soak em overnight before attempting to break them free. Bleed wise you can power bleed them by jumping the ABS relay.

Just started to take mine off tonight.

Replacing all 6 (2 small ones in driver front wheel well.

So far for the front, soak the ferrules in penetrant oil. Use a flare wrench. I drilled the rivets out on the bracket for the 2 small lines. Made breaking the ferrule lose easier.

Here is my sticky from back in the day on how to replace your brake lines. A flare nut wrench is the key.

About to do this on my truck. Are you talking just the Flex Lines or both Flex and Hard Lines?

Default hand former

Hi When i did my rear pipes I could not get the new pipe in the last plastic clip above the rear hub as there was just no room and I did not want to start lifting the body off the chassis so I opted to feed the new pipe through the clip then form the new pipe end with a an Insitu pipe former, I also used it at the front to do the ends that go into the flexi pipes it made for a good fit

Got the 2 small ones done. Pain to get the line retainer clips back on.

Been doing lots of cleanup and rust prevention. Rattle Can Restoration!

The underside looks brand new!

Is that the original bracket that's holding the two smaller ones? I may need a new one but it's NLA.

Yes - original bracket. I drilled out the rivets that originally held it in place to make it easier to get to the lines and put the clips on. I used small bolts and locknuts to put it back on. .
