If it is a caliper hanging up, or a warped rotor, it probably won't give you a code (?) New pads and rotors is probably a good place to start, and when you put them in, give everything a good cleaning, especially where the calipers move in and out.

looks like we are talking about 2 separate problems here, My reply was for Andrew0

i would be looking for a defective master or booster or leak nothing else in the system could effect the pedal height. a frozen caliper or a bad rotor will not effect the pedal height

If the caliper does not slide on the mount, the piston will be forced to move farther and use up more brake pedal, plus a warped rotor could move the pistons farther in when not applied, also causing a low pedal. Try using a screwdriver to force the pistons farther in the calipers, then step on the pedal.

Mine used to do this, I got in the habit of giving it a quick double pump to avoid the low pedal, drove me nuts. I bled the system extensively via a scan tool (nanocom) and the ABS modulator and that cured the issue on my truck.

Based on our schedules, it will likely be a couple of weeks before I get a chance to get back into this. I'll definitely come back with the final fix when I eventually get there. Thanks for all the suggestions offered so far.

this is the screw to pump, after pumping keep leg on a pedal before closing the screw so it will not suck air back(you need 2 people :-)
