Default Brake Rotors

I have a 1997 Disco1 that needs the brake pads replaced. Before I replace the pads, I want to know if I also need to replace the rotors. What is the minimum thickness for the rotors so I know if I need to replace them? I couldn't find the service thickness in theService manual. Also, I have replaced rotors on lots of other vehicles, but never a Disco. Anything I need to be aware of? Any tips? Looks like I have to pull off the bearing housing to get to the rotors... Doesn't look like much fun.

Thanks, T

The rotors have a min. thickness spec. stamped on them. If the front brakes don't shudder on hard stops your rotors will probably give you a little more use. Make sure to bleed the brakes, front and rear afterwards and to save yourself some trouble, buy your pads from a good on0line rover site, not from the local auo parts store.
While you are working onb the front end, you might want to pack the bearings and check the fluid in the swivels.

Hi Mike, Thanks for the info. Where is the thickness stamped?
