hey dw, I would first check for brake fluid leakage- fittings hoses master cylinder. Then check your brake booster and vacuum lines. Next check your calipers and pads. If it were pads you wouldve heard some noise first. Its probably a fluid leak or a vacum leak. Have you noticed any brake problems previous to this?

If it isn't leaking fluid anywhere, and you have enough fluid in the reservoir, master cylinder went out.

What year, how many miles?
1 check fluid level
2check for fluid leaks
3get under the truck and inspect the lines. Have someone push the brakes and see if a line is balooning up.
4 replace master cylinder

I ve changed the brake pads before, but the pedal ONCE about two weeks ago went str8 to the floor, but it never happened since then, I am so GRATEFUL and Blessed it didnt go out well I was driving thru the city, the fluid is fine, had oil change earlier this week and I just looked over the invoice and it say, BRAKES are BAD.... I should have paid more attention to that. But the Brake light didnt flash not once Ive noticed.

Really sounds like a master cylinder to me....

recalls are out there until they are fixed. Call you lacoal dealer with your VIN and they can tell you if there is anything outstanding..

I sounds right to me.

If you can pump the brake pedal a few times and it is higher it the
master cylinder.

People that work on cars all day its not hard to tell when they drive
so many cars.
And its a slow thing so you did not notice it.
