Default braking system improvements?

I've seen several people comment about the under performance of the discovery braking system for a vehicle it's weight, and I agree with them. Does anybody make an after market master cylinder or maybe the master cylinder from an RR would be an improvement?

Braking is good for a Disco with stock size tires, it's when bigger tires are put on and its weight is augmented by tons of add-ons that braking becomes marginal. I will personally try this soon, but apparently braided stain less steel brake lines diminishes pressure lossthat takes place with stockexpanding rubber brake lines.

Best money I spent,,, it does help more than you would think.

I have stock tires and my braking still seems sluggish.

When was the last time you flushed the brake fluid?

not sure when (if ever) it has been flushed..I've only put about 500 miles on my rover since buying it...After reading comments about the braking system I assumed moderate braking was normal for a rover...but flushing the system is a good idea I'll add that to my list.

Don't the '03-'04 D2's have better calipers? Not sure how much of an improvement there is though...

more pistons per calipers gives you much better braking performace but 4 multi-piston calipers are really expensive..that's why I was wondering about upgrading master cylinder..it's usually much cheaper.

My brakes suck! everyone says to flush them on this forum. Did you guys try that yet, and if so did it make a difference?
