Most any, as it's a simple and basic key.
The OP's key is broken off in the lock cylinder, so he has to get it out first.
The places that cut keys around here could make a copy if he had the broken key out of the cylinder.

This happened to me years ago (although it wasn't my only key). Any locksmith should have a tool to remove a key from the cylinder, after which they can make a copy from the old, broken key.

Update: I tried for quite a while with a scroll saw blade to get the key piece out. I'm sure you can all recognize the failure point of the Land Rover Disco II keys, so it was pretty deep in there. I gave up and I'm shelling out the $175 for a locksmith to come and remove it and make me a new copy tomorrow. Makes me glad I talked the seller down an extra $200 when I picked it up

Anyone know a reliable to way to get and program a FOB without pay the ridiculous $400+ to a Land Rover dealer? Anyone in chicago area got a nanocom?

I was about to say go to the dealer but what!?!? $400.00 to program the new remote? You sure? I'm in the same boat - have the remote but still use a key to open and close as I have to get it programmed... I'll be watching and willing to hook up as well.

Ah sorry. That's with the new remote and getting it cut I believe. If you have it already expect ~125-150 just to program it :/

I have a working fob I got in a box of spares I bought from a neighbor who scrapped his Disco. You'll still need to get an insert cut and have it programmed, $50 plus ship if you're interested.

But still, it's a lot of dough for a simple plug it in and plug it out. anyone with a scanner that can handle this? I do have a code that came with the remote...

You don't actually need the keyless remote for a DII. Yes, it's nice to have and yes, it's a backup means for getting in the truck, but it's not absolutely necessary.

I tapped into the wiring harness in my truck a year and a half ago or so and added a wire in a hidden location that I can use to unlock the truck by grounding it. That could be your backup instead of the keyless entry fob. In a DII turing the key in the cylinder does not operate the lock directly; it only closes a switch that signals the BCU to operate the lock. That is what the keyless entry fob does and that is what the hidden wire in my truck does too.

Cool idea. If a short to ground is all that's needed then it should be simple to to wire up an after market keyless entry system to take the place of the factory version. Instead of supplying 12v to one side of the circuit or the other depending on whether you want lock or unlock, you could use it to energize a relay and switch ground for the BCU that way. Does it just perform the reverse function depending on the state of the locks whenever it sees ground or would it be unlock only? Either way, this could turn the $400 dealer fix into a $20 Amazon workaround for those who wanted keyless entry back.

I used this service (RemoteKey UK) to get an extra FOB. Super simple and cost $160.00. I sent them back a standard spare key I had and they cut the key on the FOB. Otherwise you just take the FOB to a locksmith to cut it. It doesn't hurt to have a couple basic key blanks cut for the door as well.

I used Security Shop on 2951 N. Clark to cut some blanks. Good Luck.
