Default broke linkage follow up and help needed

Hi all, I recently snapped the high low linkage on my 01 and everyone gave me great advice on how to fix it. The crappy thing is that you can't account on rust and corrosion to not be there on a 12 year old truck. So now I am stuck again and seeking the great and wise knowledge of everyone on this forum. Here's a video as to where I am in my linkage situation.....not a pretty one I might add.

The old linkage is stuck inside the trans tunnel...can't get the bracket bolt loose on the linkage, and the pin the is stuck on the lever, I have tried wd40 p.b. blaster. I have tried to spin it with vice grips and nothing. I don't wanna tap it out because I am afraid of bending the lever...idk?
Any help would be much appreciated
Thanks everyone

Still waiting for you to realize a D1 linkage is a much better way to go.

Agreed Mike, but paul didn't have the linkage or the plate. And that pin being stuck in thelever on the t.case is preventing any linkage from going in.

you can't just stick needle nose pliers on there and pull it out one end or the other? I forget how I did mine. Then again, don' think I ever will - that night was full many of Dale's Pale Ale's

I'm gonna try some penetrating oil and let it set for tonight.

You can add a D1 CDL shifter without the D1 plate. It just takes some heating and bending of the hi/lo portion of the linkage. It's really not that difficult. I posted a link to the instructions in your other thread. I think I can get my hands on a plate though. Let me know if you are interested. I have three D1 CDL shifters and will know tomorrow if I can get a D1 plate.

To get the pin out you could just cut off the portion of the pin you are pointing to and punch the remaining piece out with a punch and hammer.

Would using a punch bend the lever causing it to not shift properly?

If possible wedge something behind it so it won't bend.
