Default Broken fuel flap actuator-pin?

The hurricane has me stuck in the garage today and i've been trying to fix my fuel flap. My fuel door will latch shut, however it foes not latch very tight and keeps popping open when I hit a bump. I have already replaced the plastic latch but I noticed that the metal actuator pin seems rough like it has been broken off. Can anybody show me some pics of theirs so I cqn compare it to mine.

Thanks

Get a flat washer.
Put J-B weld on it - which is epoxy.
Glue it to the fuel door.

I fix all sorts of stuff with JB Weld.
Fixed my mac power adapter where I got a drinking straw and surrounded it with JB weld as a strain relief.

Fixed my sprinkler distribution head today where the glue had just given away and the water was going 5 feet into the air.

Here are photos of mine. Showing how far it protrudes, and the plastic washer, and the plastic catch on the door. PS: Those plastic catches are notorious for breaking, or being out of adjustment.

EDIT: OOPS! I was adding photos with my post open, so didn't see the previous post till mine was up. But gives a different perspective.

Thanks for the photos. It looks like my actuator is fine. I figured out the problem. I can get it to latch if i pust up on the flap slightly while closing it. somtimes its the simple things haha

when I bought my DII, the metal tab that holds that plastic needed to be bent up slightly for it latched correctly. Try aligning the pin and slot and see if that helps.

Maybe up, down, or in/out. Just be careful to not break it.

Haha. I like the magnetic latch idea.

I think your best bet to get the actuator pin back out would be to go take apart the trim in the trunk and see what is going in in there. I'm not sure if its visible from under the vehicle.

If you need a copy of the RAVE manual let me know I can post /send a pdf.
