Default Broken tranny bolt...

So i did a filter change on my discovery and while double checking the bolts tightness one broke off, and none of the dealers in colorado have one. Does anyone know the thread pitch and so forth so i can find one a little bit easier? And also since i may have to re-drill and tap it anyone have a preference on which brand to use and so forth?
thanks
will

I did the same thing on mine recently. It comes out pretty easy with a screw extractor. I drilled into the busted bolt, inserted the screw extractor. Taped it with a hammer. Backed right out. The part number is RTC5735. I don't remember the size and thread but I purchased one at Lowes. Took one in with me and was able to find a fit. Just about anything you find that fits will be strong enough to hold.

I'd find one just a little stronger than the broken one.

take the bolt into Mc Guckin hardware in Boulder. They will have the replacement bolt probably.

Try a bunch of nuts on an extra bolt to figure out the pitch..

Probably an M number like M8 or such.

you can probably order the correct bolt from

Rimmer Brothers - Triumph Car Parts, MG Rover Car Parts, and Land Rover Car Parts and Spares

Will take weeks.
