brush guard install
just got a brush guard. it has a little rust. so i'll sand it and paint it. are those originally painted with a gloss finish or more of a powder coat. does spray paint do the job?
also, do i need to remove any part of the bumper to install. and where does it install. is it on the frame where the bumper is attached?
i know this isn't very technical but just want to make sure. thanks

They are originally powder coated, but after a few years, the powder coat tends to chip away. A good sanding and rustoleum flat black will work just fine. The guard attaches to the same 4 bolts as the bumper. No need to pull the bumper out. Line up the 2 bottom holes and put a bolt through - then lift up on the guard to line up the two top holes. That's it, just the 4 bumper bolts.
If you have the original license plate plinth, the two little bumperettes might interfere with the back of the guard. They make a more slimline plinth in that event, or you can just remove it all together if there is any unacceptable interference. As long as you have another helping hand to hold the guard as you line it up, the install is pretty easy.

Think suede got it for you. They are really easy with another person holding it.
If you do not have the slim line plinth, you have to remove yours, it won't work. It will leave you with 2 holes in the bumper that are perfect for mounting additional lights, if you want them...
