Default Brushguard / Tires

So..

Ranger Brushguard: $250
F250 Brushguard: $350
Discovery 2 Brushguard: $1200?

My question is simple really, do I have any hope of getting a Brushguard for less than $500? Also, and this is a noob carowner question but give me credit I'm trying to learn. :P My tires say "255/65R16," the front one's are bald so I'm going to have to replace them, what do you guys use? (Hoping to save some cash to upgrade other things).

Question #1 : YES, you should be able to find a used brush guard on Craigslist or eBay for $500 or less. Just be patient and keep your eyes peeled for one.

Question #2 : I've got Goodyear Duratrac's and love them, great aggressive tread, relatively smooth and quiet on-road. Unfortunately you won't save any money getting those...Remember that since your Disco is full-time 4wd, you'll need to replace all 4 tires.

Brush guard-what kind are you wanting? A wrap around, A-frame, ARB bumper w/ brush guard? If you can hold off for a few months; I've got an A-frame that i'll prob part with for around $300 ($680 brand new...) Here is what I have: LAND ROVER PARTS - "A" FRAME PROTECTION BAR DISCOVERY II - BLACK
But if you want a full one, just check ebay/craigslist like ylo mentioned.

As for the tires, 255/65R16 means that your current tire size is 255 millimeters wide/ 65 means that it is 65% section width (basically how tall it is) and the R16 means you have 16 inch wheels. Oh, and I LOVE the general grabber a/t2!

I have the General Grabber AT2's and have no issues with them at all. My buddy just put the DuraTracs on his Trooper and they are bad azz tires. You can't go wrong with either one. I will say that when I replace the General's, I will be getting the DuraTracs. They are the best out there right now.

You can also go 255/70/R16 tire size. That's what most of us run stock on the 16" rims. It's about a 30.5-31" tire.

If your on a budget for some ATs (like most of us), I just ordered 5 Toyo Open Country AT's from here,

TOYO Open Country AT P255 70R16 109S OWL @ TiresDirect.Net

Paid 726.33 shipped to my door for 5 of them.

Here are the GG AT2s,

http://www.tiresdirect.net/GENERAL_G..._P2576C193.cfm

They arrived today (shipped to NC from IL in less than a week!) and I plan on mounting them on Saturday if the shop can fit me in. I will post pics. This is all I have right now...

Where are you located? I'll have my old one off the truck one of these days and you can *have* it... just come get it. A few bends and bumps but a little work and a rattle can and it would look just fine. And, you can't beat the price :-)

Steele Creek area/Lake Wylie. I use to be out there in Indian Trail. Got sick of the 485 commute so I moved the family closer to uptown.
