Just go back with the OEM part you do not have to buy the all the bumper just the part you need.
On diff note is the 4.6 worth the new Disco II.
I work for a Dealership (not LR)and they have a used 04 with 46k but I would keep my 96 no matter what.
The money is not a big deal its just I'm a DIYer and I would end up with software and every tool, extra parts.
At this time I'm building a new H.O. motor for my 96 so is the little nice things worth it??

I would maybe do a custom peice in there if you did not want to replace the whole thing.
Have a peice bent so that it matched somewhat the line of the bumper face. Make the upside U with the sides at a 45 deg. and put two or three HELLA lights on there to complete it. That way you keep your fogs and get something different than everyone else and not have a lot of weight.

IMO diamond plate only belongs on Jeeps and truck tool boxes, not on a Rover. I would use 3/16" (maybe1/8" but it is light) steel bent to shape, in black or body color to look slick. DIamond is expensive too.
I have made many bumpers for my Jeep and I am about to start on my first for the Disco, they really are not that hard if you are handy with a welder. I think even a custom one like what I mentioned should not be more than $300.
I will look for a D11 and maybe take a closer look as to what is needed as far as attachment points and cleanliness.
