Camel Trophy Land Rover Years
Easy, just go as far as you can till the driver drowns, then pull it out the other side.
Just kidding! Half the crew pushed them into the river, then swam across to help the other half pull them out. And just opened the doors to let the water out, started them up & drove away. That's why Land Rovers are so awesome!
Though I'm curious how many of the "Camel Trophy" Rovers survived the ordeal and are still driveable.
Oh yeah, the Freelander is a piece of crap. If you watch the video, you'll notice that not only was that the last year Land Rover was involved, but each team had a Freelander and a Defender. To tow the Freelander I imagine.

I wonder if someone could make money by sending NAS bodies back over to Europe, being that most freelanders over here blew up while still in showroom new condition. ;-)
I actually watched that whole thing just a few days ago (currently confined to bedrest, so not much else to do) and it was very interesting. I found it odd that they ended in '98 when in '99 they could have debuted the Discovery 2.
As adventure junky, I do appreciate where it went with the biking and kayaking and whatnot, but as a wheeler I really like what the first years were like, and that is a lot more interested as a test of vehicles and the teams.

They look basically stock, save for some of the exterior, but actually had several upgrades. Don't know if this included modified wiring/ECU systems.
