Yes you can.
If the block is out then consider having the bearings checked. Cam bearings normally do not wear, but there have been cases where some have shifted.

cool thanks. I called the land rover shop here in town and a new cam is $550. I called another shop that's in town that is all ex land rover employees that started their own shop. They said not to get the cam from british atlantic, they said there is a reason its only $150. I was wondering if you or anyone have had any experience with these cams? Their only 150 so im kinda skeptical of their quality aswell. Or do you suggest anywhere to get one, even if its used?

Get new, don't get used. The shops most probably sell the same brand cam as AB, just for more. You can get a cam from D&D for less, I got mine there. http://aluminumv8.com/

Question: why are you replacing cam?
Are you replacing lifters as well?

im replacing the cam because the lobe for the exhaust valve on cynlinder 8 is completely gone. im not changing the lifters besides the 2 on 8 all the others have no wear. the engines only got 92,000 miles on it

If you aren't replacing the lifters, you might as well get a used cam too. Maybe you can get a matched used set.

Bad idea placing old lifters on a new cam, but it's your money.

If there was wear on the lifters i could see how it would be justifiable to replace them with the cam, but there isnt, so its not, but to each his own.
