Default Camshaft bearings

What is the point of having two holes() instead of just the one on the cam bearings? Specifically, the first two bearings, the rest are one hole.

Old bearings, all with one hole..........
Old bearings, all with one hole..........

New set with two holes on bearings one and two only..

They're camshaft bearings, smallest of the bunch and one piece.. Crankshaft bearings are much bigger and they are also split...

Its the brand. Pretty sure I remember seeing LS cam bearings that use only one oil feed also come with two holes in the bearings.

Line them up like the OEM came out. I marked the block with sharpie as well as cam bearings to help guide them in properly aligned.

If those are not pre finished you'll need to take the block to a machine shop for finishing before the cam can be installed.

If it's warm outside you can freeze the bearings and they'll drop in a little easier. Must be put in dry, block also needs to be extremely clean and degreased.

If you want to avoid machine work Turner engineering out of the UK sells pre finished cam bearings for a great price.

Shipping is quick

They're already to spec, I hit them with a micrometer just to be sure.

Wanted a second opinion on the holes before I started whacking em' in there, lol. Replacing the cam as well.

I hope you're not actually wacking them in lol. Press them in.

I used a long piece of all thread and some weedeater blade holders to install mine.

New lifters as well? Autohauz had their OEM lifters marked down to about 4.95 each.

I have the cam bearing install tool, yeah to new lifters, pushrods, valves, valve springs, basically everything, full top to bottom rebuild. I also have a spare 4.6 if my whacking gets too crazy, lol....

Spare engine because ....it's a Disco......

when I did my rebuild I didn't have the funds to run top-hat liners so I pinned the liners...just something to think about:
